Oz Opera is Opera Australia’s touring and access arm, with its aim to make great opera accessible to everyone, beyond the traditional theatres of the capital cities.
Oz Opera has performed in locations across Australia-wide, in venues ranging from basketball courts to proscenium arch theatres to local community centres and outdoor ampitheatres.
Oz Opera is continuously seeking new ways to engage with the local communities it visits, to make the experience of attending the opera a truly magical and engaging experience for our audiences.

Our annual Regional Tour
The Schools Company
Oz Opera's Schools Company gives around 400 performances a year in metropolitan and regional schools in Victoria and NSW. Each year, between 70,000 and 80,000 primary aged students experience the magic of opera in their very own classrooms.
Children across Australia can take part in our new Children's Chorus program, and become part of the performing Chorus in The Magic Flute.

Award-winning Auslan program
Opera Australia’s Oz Opera and Deaf Children Australia have developed a new technique of presenting opera performances with Auslan Shadow Interpreters. Oz Opera is proud to have been the recipient of the Creative Partnerships Arts Access Award at the 2013 Creative Partnerships Australia Awards in Victoria for our Auslan program. Find out more.
