Where to exchange
If you booked your tickets through Opera Australia, you may use this website to exchange tickets, or exchange by phone, post or in person directly with Opera Australia.

If you booked through the Sydney Opera House or Arts Centre Melbourne, you must exchange your tickets through their box office (subject to their terms and conditions).
Tickets purchased through Ticketmaster, QTIX, Showbiz or other agents may not be exchanged.
When to exchange
Exchanges are available up to 3 working days prior to a performance.
Exchange fees and price differences
Subscription tickets may be exchanged for free. All other tickets may be exchanged for a fee of $18 per ticket. Exchange fees must be paid at the time of ticket exchange.
You will need to pay any difference in price between the original ticket and the new ticket. If the new ticket is less expensive that the original ticket, the difference will be held on account as credit, to be spent on Opera Australia tickets or merchandise, or turned into a donation, within the following 12 months. The credit will expire after 12 months. Any price difference will not be refunded.
Exchanges are not available for Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour – Madama Butterfly, Opera on the Beach or The King and I in Brisbane and Melbourne.
Returning your original tickets
Your new tickets will be issued after we have either received your old tickets back in the post or received by email a photograph of your original tickets clearly torn in two to email@example.com.
Please include your name and the order number from your exchange transaction. This means that you should first do the exchange online or by phone to get the exchange order number, and then return the tickets including that number.
We must receive or see the tickets a minimum of 3 working days prior to the performance before the transaction is deemed complete. We will then print and send your tickets, or hold them for your collection if the exchange was processed within 7 days of the performance you’re attending.
