Information for Subscribers

What is a subscription?

To subscribe, you just need to book for three or more performances at the same time. You can either choose which operas and dates you would like to attend, or you can choose one of the recommended set series and attend the operas and dates listed in that. If you book a set series subscription, you get to keep your seat year after year.

Closing dates for subscriptions
Bookings for Set Series Subscriptions close 5pm, Friday 20 September, 2013. Choose Your Own and Youth subscriptions are available throughout the year.

Free Subscriber ticket exchanges
Subscribers can exchange tickets for another date or another opera.  Exchanges are available from Monday 21 October, 2013, and up to two working days before a performance. Ticket exchanges are FREE for subscribers, but you may need to pay any difference in price between your original ticket and your exchange ticket. To exchange your tickets call Ticket Services and reserve seats to the opera(s) of your choice. One of our Customer Service Representatives will talk you through returning your original tickets and advise of any upgrade costs. Please note that exchanges are not available for Dido and Aeneas, Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour – Madama Butterfly, or Opera on the Beach.

Subscriber discounts for additional tickets
2014 subscribers can purchase additional tickets to the 2013 and 2014 season at a discount of 10% off the published standard price. If you are purchasing your additional tickets online, remember to log in before you make your booking. Your discount will be applied automatically. If you do not have an Opera Australia online account you will need to set it up 24 hours before making your online booking, to ensure that we can provide your discount. Or, you can book immediately by phone - call 02 9318 8200.

Instalments
If you are paying for your subscription by credit card, you can choose to pay in 4 instalments. The first payment will be processed at the time of booking. The remaining 3 instalments will be charged to the same card on Wednesday 20 November 2013, Wednesday 15 January 2014, and Wednesday 5 March 2014.  Instalments incur a $40 fee per order, which will be spread equally over the 4 payments. If you wish to pay by instalments, your subscription booking must be received by Friday 20 September 2014 and must include two Winter performances, if you are subscribing in Sydney. Instalment payments are only available for subscription packages. Any additional tickets or donations will be charged in full with your first subscription instalment payment. Instalments are not available if you purchase online. Book by phone on 02 9318 8200 or use the form in your brochure.
