The Opera Australia Orchestra seeks an outstanding musician to fill the permanent position of either Principal French Horn (Section Leader) or Associate Principal French Horn.

Auditions will be held in Sydney on Monday 13 & Tuesday 14 November 2017. Applicants for the position must be available for both days.

Applications close Tuesday 10 October at 5pm (AEST).

Bass Clarinet

The Opera Australia Orchestra seeks an outstanding musician to fill the permanent position of Principal Bass Clarinet.

Auditions will be held in Sydney on Thursday 16 and Friday 17 November 2017. Applicants for the position must be available for both days.

Associate Principal Viola

The Opera Australia Orchestra seeks an outstanding musician to fill the permanent position of Associate Principal Viola.

An audition will be held on in Sydney on Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 November. This audition is open to international candidates.

Applications close Thursday 19 October at 5pm (AEST).

Musicians seeking casual work with the Opera Australia Orchestra are invited to apply by forwarding their resume/CV and a completed application form to:

There are no set dates for casual auditions. Auditions are scheduled at mutually suitable times throughout the year. Your details will be held on file until the orchestra has a need for more casual players of your instrument, at which time you will be contacted.
