Name the dragon at Opera on Sydney Harbour

Our favourite submission for the name of the dragon at Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour was Knuckles. Congratulations to Jordan Hunt from NSW.

Terms and conditions

  1. Promotion: Complete and submit the competition form with a suggestion for a name for Turandot's dragon to go into the draw for a chance to win:
    • two (2) A-reserve tickets to Opera Australia's Turandot (Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour) playing at Fleet Steps, Mrs Macquaries Point. Valid for any performance between 26 March & 23 April, excluding Saturday nights.
    • A backstage tour at Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour on the same night as your performance tickets.
    • An opportunity to have your photo taken with the dragon on stage at the end of your backstage tour.
  2. The Promoter is Opera Australia (ABN 26 000 755 153) of The Opera Centre, 480 Elizabeth Street, Surry Hills, NSW 2012.
  3. Promotion period: The Promotion will commence on 8 March 2016 and will close at on 31 March 2016 at 11pm.
  4. Eligibility: Entry is open to individuals, aged 18 years or over, who live in Australia and have successfully submitted a name for Turandot's dragon during the promotional period. Individuals must have a Facebook account to enter. 
  5. Only one entry per person will be accepted.
  6. The competition is not open to employees of Opera Australia, their families (including de facto spouses) or to other persons assisting with the competition.
  7. By entering this competition, the entrant agrees to receive emails from Opera Australia in regards to this competition. The competition entrant may unsubscribe at any time. 
  8. Draw: the competition draw will be conducted at the head office of the Promoter, located at 480 Elizabeth Street, Surry Hills, NSW 2012 on 1 April 2016. The entry considered the best by a team of judges will be deemed the winner. 
  9. The Promoter's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  10. The winners will be notified via email and the names of the winners will be published on the Opera Australia website, on this webpage, on the date of the draw.
  11. Incomplete and incomprehensible entries and entries with defamatory or offensive content or incorrect contact details are not eligible to win. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for misdirected, lost or delayed entries and entries not received for any reason during the promotion period, or for any technical difficulties with entry.
  12. Any entrant who, in the opinion of the Promoter, tampers or interferes with the entry process in any way, or who does not properly comply with the entry process, will be ineligible to win.
  13. All prizes must be taken as stated. The judge's decision is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
  14. The Promoter will not be held liable for any loss, damage or injury which results directly or indirectly from the competition, except that which cannot be excluded by law.
  15. In the event of the prize remaining unclaimed for seven days, the winner will be reselected.
