Terms and conditions

  1. Promotion: Complete and submit the form on the Opera Australia website (https://opera.org.au) with an eligible promotion code to go into the draw for a chance to win two (2) A-reserve tickets to Opera Australia's La Bohème playing at the Sydney Opera House or Arts Centre Melbourne. There will be six (6) competitions taking place on the following dates:
    1. One (1) draw on 19 February 2016 for the competition entrants who used the promotion code from the Spectrum Now Festival enews March edition.
    2. One (1) draw on 2 May 2016 for the competition entrants who used the promotion code from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra enews March edition.

    3. One (1) draw on 2 May 2016 for the competition entrants who used the promotion code from the Melbourne Festival enews March edition.

    4. One (1) draw on 2 May 2016 for the competition entrants who used the promotion code from the Melbourne International Film Festival enews March edition.

    5. One (1) draw on 2 May 2016 for the competition entrants who used the promotion code from the Melbourne Recital Centre enews April edition.

    6. One (1) draw on 4 May 2016 for the competition entrants who used the promotion code from the Melbourne Theatre Company enews April edition.

  2. Promotion codes: The eligible promotion codes are published in the e-newsletters listed above sent by partnering organisations from the period 1 March 2016 to 12pm on 11 March 2016.
  3. The prize value for two (2) A-reserve tickets to Opera Australia's performance of La Bohème at the Sydney Opera House is $508. The prize value for two (2) A-reserve tickets to Opera Australia's performance of La Bohème at Arts Centre Melbourne is $390. The prizes are not transferable, divisible or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash. The Promoter reserves the right to supply an alternative prize of similar monetary value.
  4. The Promoter is Opera Australia (ABN 26 000 755 153) of The Opera Centre, 480 Elizabeth Street, Surry Hills, NSW 2012.
  5. Promotion period: The Promotion will commence at 1 March 2016 and will close at 12pm on 11 March 2016.
  6. Eligibility: Entry is open to individuals, aged 18 years or over, who live in Australia and have successfully completed and submitted the Opera Australia survey form during the promotional period.
  7. Only one entry per person for each unique promotion code will be accepted.
  8. The competition is not open to employees of Opera Australia, their families (including de facto spouses) or to other persons assisting with the competition.
  9. By entering this competition and using the promotion code, the entrant agrees to receive emails from Opera Australia in regards to this competition. The competition entrant may unsubscribe at any time. 
  10. Draws: six (6) competition draws will be conducted at the head office of the Promoter, located at 480 Elizabeth Street, Surry Hills, NSW 2012 as follows:
    1. The first competition will be drawn on 11 March 2016, the names of all the entrants who completed and submitted the competition form before 12pm on 11 March 2016 with an eligible promotion code printed in the Spectrum Now e-newsletter will go into an electronic drawing system. The first name drawn will win the prize, being two (2) A-reserve tickets to La Bohème playing on Tuesday 15 March 2016. 
    2. The second competition will be drawn on 2 May 2016, the names of all the entrants who completed and submitted the competition form before 12pm on 1 May 2016 with an eligible promotion code printed in the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra e-newsletter will go into an electronic drawing system. The first name drawn will win the prize, being two (2) A-reserve tickets to La Bohème playing on Tuesday 10 May 2016. 

    3. The third competition will be drawn on 2 May 2016, the names of all the entrants who completed and submitted the competition form before 12pm on 1 May 2016 with an eligible promotion code printed in the Melbourne Festival e-newsletter will go into an electronic drawing system. The first name drawn will win the prize, being two (2) A-reserve tickets to La Bohème playing on Tuesday 10 May 2016. 

    4. The fourth competition will be drawn on 2 May 2016, the names of all the entrants who completed and submitted the competition form before 12pm on 1 May 2016 with an eligible promotion code printed in the Melbourne International Film Festival e-newsletter will go into an electronic drawing system. The first name drawn will win the prize, being two (2) A-reserve tickets to La Bohème playing on Tuesday 10 May 2016. 

    5. The fifth competition will be drawn on 2 May 2016, the names of all the entrants who completed and submitted the competition form before 12pm on 1 May 2016 with an eligible promotion code printed in the Melbourne Recital Centre e-newsletter will go into an electronic drawing system. The first name drawn will win the prize, being two (2) A-reserve tickets to La Bohème playing on Tuesday 10 May 2016. 

    6. The sixth competition will be drawn on 4 May 2016, the names of all the entrants who completed and submitted the competition form before 12pm on 1 May 2016 with an eligible promotion code printed in the Melbourne Theatre Company e-newsletter will go into an electronic drawing system. The first name drawn will win the prize, being two (2) A-reserve tickets to La Bohème playing on Tuesday 10 May 2016. 

  11. The winners will be notified via email and the names of the winners will be published on the Opera Australia website, on this webpage, on the date of the draws.
  12. Incomplete and incomprehensible entries and entries with defamatory or offensive content or incorrect contact details are not eligible to win. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for misdirected, lost or delayed entries and entries not received for any reason during the promotion period, or for any technical difficulties with entry.
  13. Any entrant who, in the opinion of the Promoter, tampers or interferes with the entry process in any way, or who does not properly comply with the entry process, will be ineligible to win.
  14. All prizes must be taken as stated. The judge's decision is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
  15. The Promoter will not be held liable for any loss, damage or injury which results directly or indirectly from the competition, except that which cannot be excluded by law.
  16. In the event of the prize remaining unclaimed for seven days, the winners will be redrawn.
