Terms and conditions

  1. Promotion: Complete and submit the form on the Opera Australia website (https://opera.org.au) with an eligible promotion code to go into the draw for a chance to win two (2) A-reserve tickets to Opera Australia's The Barber of Seville playing at the Sydney Opera House. There will be eight (8) competitions taking place on the following dates:
    1. One (1) draw on 19 February 2016 for the competition entrants who used the promotion code from the Bell Shakespeare enews January edition.
    2. One (1) draw on 19 February 2016 for the competition entrants who used the promotion code from the Darlinghurst Theatre Company enews January edition.
    3. One (1) draw on 19 February 2016 for the competition entrants who used the promotion code from the NIDA enews February edition.
    4. One (1) draw on 19 February 2016 for the competition entrants who used the promotion code from the City Recital Hall enews January edition.
    5. One (1) draw on 19 February 2016 for the competition entrants who used the promotion code from the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust enews February edition.
    6. One (1) draw on 19 February 2016 for the competition entrants who used the promotion code from the Universal Music enews January edition.
    7. One (1) draw on 19 February 2016 for the competition entrants who used the promotion code from the Sydney Writers Festival enews January edition.
    8. One (1) draw on 19 February 2016 for the competition entrants who used the promotion code from the Sydney Theatre Company enews February edition.
  2. Promotion codes: The eligible promotion codes are published in the e-newsletters listed above sent by partnering organisations from the period 30 December 2015 to 12pm on 18 February 2016.
  3. The prize value for two (2) A-reserve tickets to Opera Australia's performance of The Barber of Seville at the Sydney Opera House is $508. The prizes are not transferable, divisible or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash. The Promoter reserves the right to supply an alternative prize of similar monetary value.
  4. The Promoter is Opera Australia (ABN 26 000 755 153) of The Opera Centre, 480 Elizabeth Street, Surry Hills, NSW 2012.
  5. Promotion period: The Promotion will commence at 30 December 2015 and will close at 12pm on 18 February 2016.
  6. Eligibility: Entry is open to individuals, aged 18 years or over, who live in Australia and have successfully completed and submitted the Opera Australia survey form during the promotional period.
  7. Only one entry per person for each unique promotion code will be accepted.
  8. The competition is not open to employees of Opera Australia, their families (including de facto spouses) or to other persons assisting with the competition.
  9. By entering this competition and using the promotion code, the entrant agrees to receive emails from Opera Australia in regards to this competition. The competition entrant may unsubscribe at any time. 
  10. Draws: eight (8) competition draws will be conducted at the head office of the Promoter, located at 480 Elizabeth Street, Surry Hills, NSW 2012 as follows:
    1. The first competition will be drawn on 19 February 2016, the names of all the entrants who completed and submitted the competition form before 12pm on 18 February 2016 with an eligible promotion code printed in the Bell Shakespeare e-newsletter will go into an electronic drawing system. The first name drawn will win the prize, being two (2) A-reserve tickets to The Barber of Seville playing on Friday 26 February 2016. 
    2. The second competition will be drawn on 19 February 2016, the names of all the entrants who completed and submitted the competition form before 12pm on 18 February 2016 with an eligible promotion code printed in the Darlinghurst Theatre Company e-newsletter will go into an electronic drawing system. The first name drawn will win the prize, being two (2) A-reserve tickets to The Barber of Seville playing on Friday 26 February 2016. 
    3. The third competition will be drawn on 19 February 2016, the names of all the entrants who completed and submitted the competition form before 12pm on 18 February 2016 with an eligible promotion code printed in the NIDA e-newsletter will go into an electronic drawing system. The first name drawn will win the prize, being two (2) A-reserve tickets to The Barber of Seville playing on Friday 26 February 2016. 
    4. The fourth competition will be drawn on 19 February 2016, the names of all the entrants who completed and submitted the competition form before 12pm on 18 February 2016 with an eligible promotion code printed in the City Recital Hall e-newsletter will go into an electronic drawing system. The first name drawn will win the prize, being two (2) A-reserve tickets to The Barber of Seville playing on Friday 26 February 2016. 
    5. The fifth competition will be drawn on 19 February 2016, the names of all the entrants who completed and submitted the competition form before 12pm on 18 February 2016 with an eligible promotion code printed in the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust e-newsletter will go into an electronic drawing system. The first name drawn will win the prize, being two (2) A-reserve tickets to The Barber of Seville playing on Friday 26 February 2016. 
    6. The sixth competition will be drawn on 19 February 2016, the names of all the entrants who completed and submitted the competition form before 12pm on 18 February 2016with an eligible promotion code printed in the Universal Music e-newsletter will go into an electronic drawing system. The first name drawn will win the prize, being two (2) A-reserve tickets to The Barber of Seville playing on Friday 26 February 2016. 
    7. The seventh competition will be drawn on 19 February 2016, the names of all the entrants who completed and submitted the competition form before 12pm on 18 February 2016 with an eligible promotion code printed in the Sydney Writers Festival e-newsletter will go into an electronic drawing system. The first name drawn will win the prize, being two (2) A-reserve tickets to The Barber of Seville playing on Friday 26 February 2016. 
    8. The seventh competition will be drawn on 19 February 2016, the names of all the entrants who completed and submitted the competition form before 12pm on 18 February 2016 with an eligible promotion code printed in the Sydney Theatre Company e-newsletter will go into an electronic drawing system. The first name drawn will win the prize, being two (2) A-reserve tickets to The Barber of Seville playing on Friday 26 February 2016. 

  11. The winners will be notified via email and the names of the winners will be published on the Opera Australia website, on this webpage, on the date of the draws.
  12. Incomplete and incomprehensible entries and entries with defamatory or offensive content or incorrect contact details are not eligible to win. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for misdirected, lost or delayed entries and entries not received for any reason during the promotion period, or for any technical difficulties with entry.
  13. Any entrant who, in the opinion of the Promoter, tampers or interferes with the entry process in any way, or who does not properly comply with the entry process, will be ineligible to win.
  14. All prizes must be taken as stated. The judge's decision is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
  15. The Promoter will not be held liable for any loss, damage or injury which results directly or indirectly from the competition, except that which cannot be excluded by law.
  16. In the event of the prize remaining unclaimed for seven days, the winners will be redrawn.
