Background: Born, NZ. Began his professional musical life as a French Horn player in the RNZ Navy Band. Studied music in NZ, Sydney and Canberra, where he graduated with a Master of Music in 2001. Chorister with Opera Australia for over 10 years.

Other Companies: Tamino/Monostatos/Armoured Man: The Magic Flute, title role: Albert Herring, Quint: The Turn of the Screw, Don Basilio: The Marriage of Figaro (Canberra). Oratorio includes soloist: The Messiah, Evangelist: St John Passion, Monteverdi Vespers, Bach B minor Mass, C.P.E. Bach and J.S. Bach Magnificats, Carmina Burana, Obadiah: Elijah, Vaughan Williams Hodie, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9. Kent has given numerous song recitals in Sydney, Canberra, regional NSW, Melbourne and NZ. Kent has been broadcast live twice on ABC Classic FM, most recently in 2012 in the Britten Serenade for tenor, horn and strings.
