NSW and VIC Primary Schools Tours 2018

Each year over 80,000 NSW and Victorian primary aged children experience the wonder of opera for the first time thanks to our innovative Primary Schools Tour.

Developed in conjunction with specialist music educators and some of Australia’s most talented musicians and creative teams, the Primary Schools Tour feeds children’s imaginations through opera.

Consider the anticipation these youngsters feel when we arrive at their school hall laden with costumes, sets, professional singers and musicians, to entertain and excite them with semi-staged interpretations of some of our best-loved operas.

In 2018, Our NSW Primary Schools Tour company will perform an abridged version of The Magic Flute, and our Victorian Primary Schools Tour company will present a new work based on the tale of The Owl and the Pussycat, comprising a pastiche of opera’s greatest hits in a piece called By the Light of the Moon. Messages of friendship, trust, truth and forgiveness are reinforced through enchanting music and captivating performances, delighting both children and teachers alike.

We need your help to assist us in reaching as many children as possible in 2018.

Your donation will help us continue to support this important educational initiative, by providing artists of the highest calibre, engaging curriculum-based Teachers' Resource Materials, and helping us to travel far and wide to perform to children of every background in every corner of NSW and Victoria.
