
Associate Principal Flute
Amanda Hollins holds the position of Associate Principal Flute in the Opera Australia Orchestra having first joined the Orchestra in 1996. Amanda started her musical studies at the age of ten and under the tutelage of Trevor Wye and Robert Aitken went on to study at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester and Banff School of Fine Arts.
Some of the highlights of her career are winning the Banff Concerto competition and performing at Glyndebourne and the Proms.
Fun fact: Most people don't know that the flute typically requires more air than any other wind instrument.
