Margie Iddison holds the position of Tutti Cello in the Opera Australia Orchestra having first joined the Orchestra in 1988. Margie started her musical studies at the age of eleven and under the tutelage of Janus Laurs, David Pereira and Marianne Hunt and went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts (Music) and Graduate Diploma of Music Performance at Victorian College of the Arts.
Margie enjoys performing many different periods and styles of opera especially those from the Baroque period. She was also invited to be part of the Melbourne Ring orchestra in 2016 which was one of the highlights of her career.
Fun fact: The first opera Margaret played with the Opera Australia Orchestra was Lucia de Lammermoor with Richard Bonynge and Dame Joan Sutherland - she couldn't believe her luck!
