Welcome!
Opera Australia is thrilled to welcome you to the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney for Mazda Opera in the Domain. Now in its thirteenth year with Mazda Australia and with a history stretching back to 1982, we are proud to have firmly established ourselves as one of Sydney’s much loved free outdoor events.
Community concerts like this allow us to present opera that exhilarates – while simultaneously sustaining and showcasing the art form. Under the sparkling night sky, let the beauty of music wash over you and electrify your senses.
Mazda Opera in the Domain could not take place without the community leadership of Mazda Australia. We thank them for their generous and long-standing commitment to Opera Australia and applaud them for sharing our vision. Together, we bring you some of the world’s greatest music performed by some of the greatest artists of the modern opera world.
Thank you for joining us and I trust you enjoy tonight.
Rory Jeffes
Chief Executive Officer, Opera Australia
With the start of a new year, there’s a sense of celebration and excitement in the air. It’s the perfect time to gather with friends and family to enjoy what Sydney has to offer.
Tonight, we’re thrilled to welcome you to Mazda Opera in the Domain, an opportunity to immerse yourself in the beautiful voices of some of our brightest stars, under the stars.
For more than 20 years, Mazda has been involved with the arts; bringing some of the greatest artworks in the world to Australia and introducing new audiences to inspiring performances. A proud supporter of Opera Australia for 15 years and now a hero partner.
Bringing magnificent performances to Australian audiences is a priority for Mazda; much like the effect visual and performing arts has on an audience, we take great pride in creating beauty through vehicle design to elicit an emotional response from our customers.
As you are taken on a journey by Opera Australia’s performance this evening, I invite you to take a moment to look at some of the cars we have on display tonight.
Finally, thank you for joining us at Mazda Opera in the Domain and I hope you enjoy the evening.
