Your evening at New Year's Eve at the opera 

Stroll past the security and the crowds and enter the Sydney Opera House.

At 5.30pm, there's an optional 3-course dinner with matching wines, designd by Matt Moran of ARIA Restaurant, looking out over Sydney Harbour.

At 7.45pm, choose between a performance of Puccini's La Bohème and The Opera Gala concert.

Interval is timed for the 9pm fireworks.

After the performance, at about 10.30pm, you can either attend the Midnight Party or just hang out in the foyer Opera House and use the cash bar while you wait for the fireworks. 

At the Midnight Party, in the top foyer closest to the fireworks, you'll be served drinks and canapes till 1am, while the band inspires you to dance.
