Sydney Opera House — The Opera Volunteers
Celebrating Opera Australia’s 60th anniversary, Sydney Opera House — The Opera will be a magnificent staging with a full chorus and orchestra, leading local, national and international artists and inspired designs for the set and costumes. An international event, this will be an outstanding production of one of the most important contemporary operas ever written by an Australian composer; Alan John and Dennis Watkins’ The Eighth Wonder. The 86-metre wide steps of the Sydney Opera House will transform into an opera stage for the first time ever, harnessing cutting-edge technology to deliver a story that shaped the cultural landscape of Australia.
Volunteering is an exciting way to get involved in this event which brings together international and national artists, creatives, musicians and technicians.
Volunteers will work with Opera Australia to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and to inform and direct audience members. A friendly and positive attitude is all that is required, and volunteers can expect a rewarding experience, learning new and valuable skills and meeting like-minded people. To say thank you, Opera Australia are pleased to offer volunteers and their guest with complimentary tickets to one performance, on a date to be confirmed.
