Applying for a job

From time to time, Opera Australia advertises job vacancies on this website, in industry publications, on recruitment websites or via the mainstream media.

Information about the position, reporting relationships, key responsibilities, and skills and experience requirements is set out in the Position Description.

The position description is posted on this website.  You need to read the Position Description before applying for the position.

Written applications MUST include:
• a covering letter that addresses the key selection criteria for the position
• a resume (or CV)
• the names of 2 referees (these will not be contacted without your approval)

The key selection criteria are the essential qualifications needed for the position, as outlined in the advertisement. Further information about essential and desirable qualifications is contained in the Position Description and may be referenced in support of your application. As a general guide, your covering letter should not exceed 3 pages.   

Please note that applications that do not include a covering letter will not be acknowledged or considered. Applications must be submitted by the nominated closing time.

Normally it will take a week or two to consider the applications and organise the interviews. You will be contacted if you are selected for interview. Otherwise, you will be contacted at the end of the selection process to advise on the outcome.
