We are seeking performers to join Opera Australia & Crossroads Live's presentation of Anastasia at the Adelaide Festival Theatre.

Inspired by the beloved films, Anastasia transports us from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920s, as a brave young woman sets out to discover the mystery of her past. Pursued by a ruthless Soviet officer determined to silence her, Anya enlists the aid of a dashing conman and a lovable ex-aristocrat. Together, they embark on an epic adventure to help her find home, love, and family.

General auditions for Singers

Our General Auditions are held regularly for singers to audition for our Casual Chorus list. Successful singers are then considered for work with the Opera Australia Chorus. Please note that these General Auditions are not suitable for Musical Theatre performers or anyone under the age of 18.

Audition date: Thursday 10 September & Friday 11 September 2026. Applicants must be available from 10am–4:30pm both days
Applications close: Wednesday 12 August 5pm AEST
Recorded auditions due: Tuesday 8 September 5pm AEST
Eligibility: This audition is open to Australian & New Zealand Citizens, and Australian Permanent Residents only

Set Repertoire

Applicants must prepare two set works and orchestral excerpts:

1. Franz Kruger - Etude No. 45 for Timpani

2. Jacques Delécluse – No.29 from Thirty Studies for Timpani, Vol. 3

3. Orchestral Excerpts publish date: Thursday 13 August 2026

Expression of interest - Freelance auditions

Orchestral instrumentalists seeking freelance work with the Opera Australia Orchestra are invited to submit an expression of interest through the online application form below.
