Andrew Crothers

Andrew’s passion for the viola ignited from his first rehearsal with the Australian Youth Orchestra. In 2017, he began studying with Keith Crellin at the Elder Conservatorium of Music in Adelaide, graduating with first class honours. From 2021-2023, Andrew studied with Caroline Henbest at ANAM (Australian National Academy of Music). Whilst studying there, he started working casually with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and got amazing opportunities to play with some of the leading orchestras around Australia and New Zealand. This included playing in a Mozart Symphony program for a national tour of Australia with the Australian Chamber Orchestra. In 2024, Andrew was an Emerging Artist for the Australian Chamber Orchestra where he was fortunate enough to loan the instrument he still plays on today, Pierre M. Audinot 1968 Paris. Andrew also enjoys swimming and being adventurous outdoors.
