Danielle Sibosado

Danielle Sibosado is proud Baad and Yawuru woman from the Kimberley in Western Australia. Inspired by the music of her uncles the Pigram Brothers, she started playing guitar when she was 8 years old and singing when she was 12. Her music reflects her experiences of navigating life through Naarm/Birraranga (Melb) as a young First Nations woman, where she has been performing since the age of 16.

She has participated in the Multicultural Arts Victoria Visible mentorship program for new and emerging artists and worked closely with well-known Melbourne folk/pop singer-songwriter Gossling.

Danielle co-produced and presented BBQ: Blak, Beautiful and Queer, a music and performance night celebrating the deadly young queer Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander folk. She also produced Jirrmujina Liyan (Songs for Spirit) through Darebin's AMPLIFY program, presenting a full lineup of First Nations music.

Bran Nue Dae is the next step for Dani and a special one at that, as she has grown up listening to the songs and seeing the impact that the original production had on the Broome and wider Kimberley community.
