Gemma Nha

Korean-Australian soprano Gemma Nha is a soloist in Volksoper Wien’s ensemble. This season, she performed as Maria West Side Story, Pamina Die Zauberflöte, Adele Die Fledermaus, Susanna Le nozze di Figaro, and Wendla Spring Awakening.
Gemma’s repertoire ranges from Mozart to contemporary musical theatre, with roles including Barbarina Le nozze di Figaro (Lyric Opera of Chicago, Volksoper Wien), Soeur Constance Dialogues des Carmélites (Wolf Trap Opera), and Tuptim The King and I (Seefestspiele Mörbisch). In concert, Gemma has performed at Carnegie Hall with Orchestra of St. Luke’s and Maestro Lionel Meunier, Troy Saving Banks Music Hall with the Albany Symphony, and the Grant Park Music Festival.
Gemma is the first female singer to win First Prize at the Seoul International Music Competition. Other competition successes include the Laffont Metropolitan Opera and Lotte Lenya Competitions, Marcella Sembrich International Vocal Comeptition, and Sydney Eisteddfod.
Gemma holds a MM from The Juilliard School and a BA in Voice from The University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
