Meg Cohen

Meg is a Naarm-based violinist involved in a diverse array of projects. Unsure if her many curiosities lend to versatility or chaos, she cycles through roles as chamber and orchestral musician, baroque violinist and violist, artistic director of Moirai and Wattleseed Ensemble, and keen curator and collaborator. She has performed at all the major festivals and venues across the country, recorded multiple albums with ABC Classics, and was a Freedman Fellowship nominee in 2023. Meg has appeared with the Melbourne Chamber and Symphony Orchestras, the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Genesis Baroque, the Australian Haydn Ensemble, and the Penny and Partridge quartets. Internationally, she has attended academies with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, and as a member of the award-winning Geist Quartet. Meg founded and directed the Sydney Baroque Music Festival from 2013-2018. Meg holds Bachelor (Honours) and Master’s degrees from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, studied at the Australian National Academy of Music, and is an incoming PhD candidate and scholarship recipient at Monash University.
