Mia Byrnes
Born and raised in Nelson Bay, Mia Byrnes began her dance journey at a small local studio before pursuing professional training at the National College of Dance in Newcastle, an institution that continues to shape her artistic values and teaching practice today. Her passion for performance led her to Queensland, where she trained at Atelier Australia under Heidi Landford and Prudence Bowen, before launching her professional career at 19 with The Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada. There, Mia performed nationally and internationally in original works by Artistic Director Igor Dobrovolskiy.
During the pandemic, Mia discovered a deep love for teaching and choreography, working across Australia and Canada while refining her approach to classical technique and performance artistry. She has furthered her professional development through invitation-only training with the Radio City Rockettes in New York, focusing on elite precision, stamina, and performance excellence. Most recently, Mia performed with Ballet International Gala in their Christmas Spectacular and is thrilled to be joining the company for The Phantom of the Opera.
