The internationally celebrated American tenor Robert Watson is featured in several major debuts during the 2024/25 season: making his house debut at the Opéra de Lyon as Tambourmajor in Wozzeck, debuting his role as Parsifal at the Aalto-Theater Essen, performing as Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly at his house debut with Vancouver Opera, and making his Japan debut as Erik in Der fliegende Holländer at the Hyogo Performing Arts Center.
Additionally, his repertoire includes roles such as Florestan (Fidelio), Siegmund (Die Walküre), Hoffmann (Les contes d’Hoffmann), Don Carlo, Rodolfo (La bohème), Cavaradossi (Tosca), Don José (Carmen), Ismaele (Nabucco), Turiddu (Cavalleria rusticana), Canio (Pagliacci), Bacchus (Ariadne auf Naxos), and many more.
He has been engaged as a guest artist at prestigious opera houses such as the San Francisco Opera, Washington National Opera, Metropolitan Opera, Oper Zürich, the state operas of Hamburg, Berlin, and Munich, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro Regio Torino, Opéra National de Montpellier, and many others.
