Anna Princeva

Born in St. Petersburg, Anna began her musical studies at the age of five and graduated as and also studied singing and direction. Later, she graduated with honors in singing from the Conservatory of Fermo – Italy. She has participated in several noteworthy Master Classes including those with Francesco Araiza, Grace Bumbry, Lela Cuberli and Bianca Maria Casoni.

In subsequent years she debuted roles of Violetta from Verdi’s La Traviata, Pia from Donizetti’s Pia de Tolomei; Pamina from the Mozart opera Die Zauberflöte at Teatro Comunuale Luciano Pavarotti of Modena; Desdemona from Rossini’s Otello; Blumenmädchen from Wagner’s Parsifal, the title role from Verdi’s AlziraContessa Almaviva from the Mozart opera Le nozze di Figaro, Fiordiligi from Mozart’s Così fan tutte at the Tiroler Festspiele Erl, Leonora from Verdi’s Il Trovatore at Theater Freiburg and Donna Anna from the Mozart opera Don Giovanni at the Estates Theater in Prague. She also covered the role of Leonora from Il Trovatore at the Bayerische Staastoper and Marguerite (Faust) at Baden – Baden Festspielhaus.

Among her latest engagements are the title role in Verdi’s Giovanna D’Arco under the direction of W. Humburg, Teresa in Berlioz’s Benvenuto Cellini unter the direction of S. Blunier and Hélène in Verdi’s Jérusalem at the Theater Bonn and Fiordiligi from Mozart’s Così fan tutte staged by C. Bieito at the Theater Basel.

As a concert artist she has sung the soprano solos from Handel’s Messiah with The Haydn Orchestra in Bolzano and Trento under the direction of T. De Patalung; Mozart’s and Verdi’s Requiem, Haydn’s Lord Nelson Messe, and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony in Graz under the direction of A. Hochstrasser; Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, and also the Protagonist of the Grand Gala opening concert of the new Festspielhaus in Erl, live on Austrian National Television.

Recent engagements include Matilde in Rossini’s Guglielmo Tell, Leonora in Verdi’s Oberto, Conte di San Bonifacio, Anna Reich in Nicolai’s Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor at Deutsche Oper am Rhein and Nedda in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci at the Sydney Opera House and State Theatre, Melbourne.
