Dinner on the Dock Auction Rules and Conditions

Opera Australia, with the assistance of donors, has endeavoured to catalogue, describe and value the items and lots to be auctioned correctly. The items and lots are sold ‘as is’ and Opera Australia neither warrants nor represents, and shall in no event be responsible for, the correctness of description of the items or lots. No statement contained in the catalogue or made orally at the sale or elsewhere shall be deemed to be such a warranty, representation or assumption of liability. 

Opera Australia reserves the right to withdraw any item or lot from sale prior to the call for bids. All sales are final and there will be no exchange or refund on lots unless specified. All bidders must register their details on the night of the live auction at the event with Opera Australia Volunteers. Information relating to Opera Australia performances is correct at time of print.

Payments will be processed from Saturday 20 May 2017. Methods of payment accepted are: cash, cheque, Visa, MasterCard or American Express. No auction item may be redeemed for cash. Items are priced in Australian dollars and are not subject to GST. Items purchased at this event cannot be sold at other events or used as part of a competition. Any additional freight or logistics costs as a result of an international bid will be the responsibility of the winning bidder. 


To participate in the live auction and to be a winning bidder, you will need to be present at the event, Dinner on the Dock, Saturday 20 May 2017. The live auction will be run by an auctioneer. Live auctions items can be viewed on the Dinner on the Dock website prior to the event. 

In the Live Auction, the highest bidder, in due time, shall be declared the purchaser. If any dispute shall arise between two or more bidders the item in dispute shall, at the discretion of the auctioneer, be put up again and resold or the auctioneer may decide the dispute and their decision shall be final. Terms and conditions apply to live auction items and are listed in the descriptions. 

Opera Australia volunteer’s will collect the winning bidders details at the live auction. Successful bidders should collect their lot envelopes from the collection table at the end of the night.

Please contact Opera Australia should you have any concerns redeeming your prize. Unless otherwise specified, some non-wine auction lots and services must be used one year from Saturday 20th May 2017. Some listings have individual terms and conditions on the dates and time frames to be redeemed, these are listed in the individual description. Reservations for all trips and experiences must be mutually arranged with the donor unless otherwise specified. All arrangements for trips and similar events must be made at least one month in advance unless otherwise specified. No refunds will be allowed on travel packages for cancelled tickets and accommodation. By agreeing to these terms & conditions for the live and auction you the bidder accept that as a successful winner of an item you will fully pay for the item plus any surcharge and delivery of all the items you win in a timely manner. Notwithstanding, any of the Rules and Conditions as listed here, the operation of the Auction remains at the discretion of the auctioneer and Opera Australia. 


In order to participate in the raffle, entrants must purchase a raffle ticket and register their details including name and contact phone number on the night at point of sale with Opera Australia. All purchased raffle tickets will be entered into a draw, these will be drawn at random, winners will then collect their prizes. If the winner is not present and/ or cannot be contacted at the time of the winning entries being drawn, Opera Australia will conduct a further draw until a winner is called and confirmed. Opera Australia takes no responsibility for any loss or damage (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the prizes. All decisions of Opera Australia are final and no discussions or correspondence relating to the raffle will be entered into.
