Andrii Kymach
In season 2024/25 the Ukrainian baritone Andrii Kymach will be seen as Ford Falstaff and Sir Riccardo Forth I puritani with Opéra national de Paris, Escamillo Carmen with the Polish National Opera and on tour with Staatsoper Hamburg, in the title role in Eugene Onegin with the Canadian Opera Company, as well as returning to The Royal Opera House and Opera Australia.
The previous season was marked by the debuts at Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia as Count Tomsky Pique Dame and the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden for Escamillo Carmen, as well as a return to Ópera de Tenerife as High Priest of Dagon Samson et Dalila and as Robert Iolanta
with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. On the concert platform he performed in Rachmaninov’s The Bells with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and gave a recital at Oxford Lieder.
Highlights of the previous seasons also include highly successful house debuts at Houston Grand Opera as Pere Germont La Traviata, Opera Australia as the title role in Don Giovanni, Chicago Lyric Opera as Escamillo Carmen and Tomsky Pique Dame at the Grange Festival.
Past performances include his house and role debut at the Gran Teatro del Liceu Barcelona as Sir Riccardo Forth I puritani alongside Javier Camarena and Pretty Yende, role and house debut singing Lord Enrico Ashton Lucia di Lammermoor at the Opera de Tenerife, title role in Don Giovanni at Opera de Nice, as well as a concert performance of Rubinstein’s The Demon title role at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall.
Andrii Kymach was the First Prize Winner of the prestigious BBC Cardiff Singer of the World 2019. He graduated from the Bolshoi Young Artist Program in 2018. Within his tenure he made his role debut as Don Carlos in Dargomyzhsky’s The Stone Guest at the Bolshoi Theatre Moscow.
