Ben Mingay

Ben Mingay is an actor and singer from Newcastle who was originally a construction worker before a dare from his mates led him to audition for the Conservatorium of Music. He won a scholarship and went on to train in classical voice, changing the trajectory of his life forever.

His opera credits include Papageno in The Magic Flute for Opera Australia; Sweeney Todd for Victorian Opera, State Opera South Australia, West Australian Opera and Dubai Opera; the Pirate King in Pirates of Penzance for Victorian Opera, West Australian Opera and Prospero Arts/QPAC; and Billy Bigelow in Carousel for State Opera South Australia. Musical theatre credits include Shrek the Musical, Jersey Boys, The Phantom of the Opera and Dirty Dancing, which he performed internationally. Screen credits include Frayed, The Twelve, Amazing Grace, House of Bond, Hacksaw Ridge, Home and Away, Wonderland and Packed to the Rafters.
