flora&faunavisions has taken shape from over 20 years of exploring ideas and creating authentic design experiences and solutions across industries. Born out of the experimental scene in Berlin, the vision began in 1999 after being founded by the pioneering designer and architect Leigh Sachwitz.
Ever since, a wealth of experience has given flora&faunavisions an edge that is well appreciated by a growing international community of clients and industry specialists. As a multimedia studio for design, flora&faunavisions continuously challenges the boundaries of design and technology. It is their curiosity and passion that leads them forward, constantly chasing the horizon to surpass expectations at every occasion.
From multidisciplinary experiences within opera productions, to 360-degree soft-edge projection mapping and responsive data works. flora&faunavisions seamlessly shift from one industry to the next, creating inspiring pieces that makes every moment authentic and unique. From cultural institutions, artists, musicians, luxury brands and international fashion houses, to high-end commissions for the automotive, telecommunications, food and beverage industries and beyond. With more than 600 projects to their name, flora&faunavisions has previously worked and is currently designing for internationally renowned electronic music artists like DJ Solomun and Paul Kalkbrenner. flora&faunavisions also created the world famous art piece INSIDEOUT, as well as the multiple award winning interactive exhibition Olympus Perspective Playground. Their work also includes an immersive audio visual award winning installation for Hyundai and Miele at the Milan Design Week, to video projections for Volkswagen and international fashions show for Maybelline New York.
flora&faunavisions has been a long-standing collaborator with the visionary Chinese director Chen Shi-Zheng. Together with Leigh Sachwitz, previous collaborations include ‘Farewell My Concubine’ at the 21st Beijing Music Festival, as well as the kinetic media opera ‘Miss Fortune’ at both the Royal Opera House, London and the Bregenzer Festspiele, Austria. ‘Double It’ saw a circus atmosphere brought to life in New York, followed by a previous production for Opera Australia with the infamous ‘Turandot’ on Sydney Harbour. In 2019, the relationship continued with the world premiere of the multimedia extravaganza of the unique musical production of ‘Dragon Spring Phoenix Rise’ at The Shed, New York City.
Today, flora&faunavisions and Leigh Sachwitz continue their ground-breaking journey with Chen Shi-Zheng with their next project the biggest yet, taking on an epic four part kinetic digital visual production of Wagner’s ‘The Ring Cycle’ in Brisbane, Australia in 2021. flora&faunavisions has taken on the role of digital content producer for this world famous opera production.
