Irina Dubrovskaya

Born in Ust-Ilimsk, in Siberia, in 1981, she obstained her singing degree at only 23 years of age at the Mikhail Glinka State Conservatory in Novosibirsk. She studied with R. Zhukova in Novosibirsk and with Valentina Klenova in Moscow. From 2005 to 2007 she studied at the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre in Moscow. In 2006 she attended Teresa Berganza’s masterclasses in Moscow. Since August 2006 she has worked as a soloist at the K. S. Stanislavsky and at the V. I. Nemirovich-Danchenko Theatre in Moscow.



Her roles include Gilda in Rigoletto in Sofia, at the Philharmonic Hall in Moscow, in Tiblissi (Georgia), at the Dalhalla Festival (Sweden), in Mexico and in Estonia; Violetta in La Traviata at the Philharmonic Hall in Moscow, in Rahvusooper (Estonia); Ludmilla in Glinka’s Ruslan and Ludmilla at the Philharmonic Hall in Moscow; Marfa in The Tzar’s Bride and the title role in Rimsky-Korsakov’s Snow MaidenNot only love, Contessa in Le nozze di FigaroL‘elisir d'amore at the Philharmonic Hall in Moscow.





In June 2008 she made her debut in Italy at the Ravenna Festival in La Traviata in a new production directed by Cristina Mazzavillani Muti. She then sang the role again at the Teatro Donizetti di Bergamo (and on a Japan Tour), in Savona, at Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova and at Teatro Ventidio Basso in Ascoli Piceno for Fondazione Pergolesi Spontini in Jesi. She then made her debut as Musetta in La bohème at Teatro Massimo in Palermo.





She recently sang Gilda in the As.Li.Co production of Rigoletto in Como, Brescia, Pavia, Cremona, Milano (Teatro degli Arcimboldi) Jesi and Fermo, and in concert with Teatro Regio di Parma in St. Petersburg; La Traviata in Sao Paulo directed by Daniele Abbado, in Pisa, Lucca and Livorno, and in Japan on tour with the Budapest Opera; Donna Anna in Don Giovanni at Teatro dell’Opera Giocosa in Savona and in Rovigo; L’occasione fa il ladro (Berenice) at Teatro Malibran in Venice for Teatro La Fenice; La clemenza di Tito (Servilia) in Trieste.





Ms. Dubrovskaya is also very active on the concert platform, having performed in Ust-Ilimsk, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, Samara, Moscow, Krasnogorsk, Tarusa, Baku and in Macedonia. In chamber music, she performed Dvorak‘s Zigeunermelodien, Prokofiev’s Akhmatova, Šostakovich’s Song Cycle from Jewish Folk Poetry, as well as several songs by Brahms, Grieg, Rachmaninov, Rimsky-Korsakov, Tchaikovsky, Glinka, Mendelssohn, Schubert, Schumann, Strauss. She sang Brahms’ Requiem, Mahler’s IV Symphony and Beethoven’s IX Symphony with Orchestra Verdi in Milan.





Future engagements include L‘elisir d’amore (Adina) and La scala di seta (Giulia) at La Fenice in Venice and La Traviata (Violetta) in Glyndebourne and on tour.
