Lauded by The Seattle Times as a “passionate singing actor with a voice of considerable heft and power” with “fearless, thrilling high notes,” Rebecca Nash is widely recognised for her commanding performances in dramatic soprano repertoire. In the 2025/26 season, she sings the title role of Turandot with the Metropolitan Opera, Opera Australia, and the Royal Swedish Opera; and joins Yannick Nézet-Séguin and the Rotterdam Philharmonic as Brünnhilde in Siegfried, touring performances in Rotterdam, Paris, Baden-Baden, and Dortmund. Last season brought her back to the Metropolitan Opera as the Färberin in Die Frau ohne Schatten, alongside further performances of Abigaille in Nabucco with Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, and a return to San Francisco Opera for Tristan und Isolde.

In recent seasons, Rebecca made her debut as Ortrud in Lohengrin at the Metropolitan Opera and made her house and role debut as Elektra. She debuted as Abigaille with Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, sang the title role in Ariadne auf Naxos with Arizona Opera, joined San Francisco Opera for Die Frau ohne Schatten, performed Turandot at Teatro Verdi Padua, and made her Wiener Staatsoper and Theater Kiel debuts as the Färberin.

Earlier highlights include her first performances of the Kaiserin (Die Frau ohne Schatten) at the Ópera de Bellas Artes in Mexico City; Senta (Der fliegende Holländer) with Seattle Opera; the title role in Káťa Kabanová with Oper Köln; and Miss Jessel (The Turn of the Screw) with Boston Lyric Opera, marking her American debut. Rebecca sang the Marschallin (Der Rosenkavalier) with English National Opera; later repeating the role with Scottish Opera, in addition to performances of Cio-Cio-San (Madama Butterfly). She sang Judit in Bluebeard’s Castle at the Virginia Arts Festival, joined the New York Philharmonic and New York City Opera for Schoenberg’s Erwartung and, in her home country, made her debut with Opera Australia as the Countess in Le nozze di Figaro.

Rebecca is a prolific performer of concert repertoire. She has sung Strauss’ Vier Letzte Lieder with the Norrköping Sinfonieorchester under Daniel Harding, and under Sir Richard Armstrong with the Scottish Opera Orchestra; Mahler’s Symphony No. 8 and Stravinsky’s Les Noces at the Virginia Arts Festival; Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the Phoenix Symphony and with Gustavo Dudamel conducting the Orquesta Sinfónica Simón Bolívar; Mendelssohn’s Elijah with the San Antonio Symphony and with Kurt Masur conducting the London Philharmonic Orchestra (BBC Proms); Dvořák’s Mass in D under Sir Andrew Davis (BBC Proms); and Fauré’s Requiem with Graeme Jenkins conducting the Orchestre National de Lyon. Other highlights include Mozart’s Mass in C minor with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra; Dvořák’s Requiem with the Danish Radio Orchestra; Mozart’s Coronation Mass with RTVE Madrid; Verdi’s Requiem at the Royal Albert Hall; Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra; and Beethoven’s Ah! Perfido! with the London Mozart Players.

Rebecca won first prize at the Herald Sun Aria and was awarded the Marianne Mathy Award, the top prize at the Australian Singing Competition. She was also the recipient of the inaugural Dame Joan Sutherland Singing Award. She studied at Monash University before completing an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Opera at the Royal College of Music in London.
