Celeste Lazarenko

Celeste Lazarenko holds a master’s degree from the Guildhall London and Sydney Conservatorium and has appeared with English National Opera, Opera North and Opera Angers/Nantes.

Celeste’s roles for Opera Australia include Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Pamina and Second Lady (The Magic Flute), Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro), Sylviane (The Merry Widow), Kate Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), and ‘Fiji Woman’ (Whiteley).

Further major operatic roles include the title role in The Cunning Little Vixen (Victorian Opera), La Voix Humaine, The Rape of Lucretia for (Sydney Chamber Opera), Télaïre (Castor et Pollux), Medea (Giasone), and Leonore (L’amant jaloux) for Pinchgut Opera.

On the concert platform Celeste has appeared with the Queensland, Sydney and New Zealand Symphony Orchestras, Sydney Philharmonia Choirs, Australian Haydn Ensemble and the Newcastle and Sydney University Graduate Choirs.

The recipient of many prizes and awards including the Countess of Munster Award, The Australian Music Foundation Award, and The Marten Bequest, Celeste was also a finalist in the Kathleen Ferrier Competition, London.
