My name is Damar and I’m a Broome girl with dreams bigger than me. I was born and raised in Broome, but I’ve had the amazing opportunity to travel half way around the world ever since I was young. Music has been something that enhanced my childhood and played a huge part in my life. Singing was and still is my predominant instrument, with guitar my second and piano my third. I’ve been composing songs since young and still do till this day. Some of my biggest achievements have been becoming Head Girl of Broome Senior High school for 2019, being selected as a year ten mentor to take a group of year sevens overseas to Japan, and becoming an ambassador for YOH FEST Australia through a performance gig at Broome Civic Centre quite recently.
Some of my major previous performances include mainly at Broome senior high school at every assembly, and performance showcase, along with singing the national anthem at Bedford Park for Anzac Day Dawn Service this year.
I am highly passionate about the environment and the wellbeing of other animal species on earth. My lifelong dream is to eradicate all abuse and cruelty towards animals by placing harsh laws and penalties all around the world, and to own an animal sanctuary to protect and preserve specie populations in their natural habitat. While doing this I will be taking my guitar and doing what I do best, perform. But for now, my next journey is on stage with Bran Nue Dae and Opera Conference travelling around the nation for the next year as my next major performance.
