Riccardo Massi


Italian tenor Riccardo Massi is rapidly earning international recognition as an exciting spinto tenor, and has been heard in theaters including the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro Giuseppe Verdi in Trieste, Berlin State Opera and the Bavarian State Opera in Munich. 

In the winter of 2012 he sang Tosca at Teatro Regio di Torino,and made his French debut with Tosca in Paris at Theatre Des Champs Elysees. In February 2012 he made his Debut at the Metropolitan Opera House in Aida, with Violeta Urmana. In May 2012 he sung Tosca in Avignon, and in July Norma in Rome, Terme di Caracalla. In October 2012 he made his debut in Toronto as Manrico in Il Trovatore, and in December he sung for the first time Riccardo in Un Ballo in Maschera, in Basel, Switzerland.

In February 2013 came his debut in Turandot in Stockholm, at the Royal Swedish Opera, with the soprano Nina Stemme. In July 2013 he made his debut in Verdi’s La Forza del Destino at Sydney Opera House, Australia.

In January 2014 came his debut in Andrea Chenier at the Stockholm Opera House. In June 2014, his debut at Covent Garden, Royal Opera House with Tosca under conductor Placido Domingo. In July 2014 a concert in Paris at Theatre des Champs-Elysèes with soprano Anna Netrebko. August 2014 brought his debut in the role of Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, at Oslo Opera House, with Soprano Hui He. In October 2014 he sang in Marseille as Enzo Grimaldo in Ponchielli’s La Gioconda. In November 2014 he sang at Deutsche Oper in Berlin as Don Jose in Bizet’s Carmen.

The beginning of 2015 saw his return to the Sydney Opera House in Tosca. In March 2015 he made his debut at Grand Théâtre de Genève in Verdi’s Requiem. In May 2015 he sang Un Ballo in Maschera at Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussells and in July 2015 he made his debut at Bregenzer Festspiele in Turandot.
