Opera Australia Patrons support Opera Australia through annual tax-deductible donations, which contribute to the year round program of one of the busiest opera companies in the world.

As an Opera Australia Patron you become part of the Opera Australia family and enjoy priority ticketing benefits, exclusive invitations to Opera Australia rehearsals and events, and premium service from our Patron Managers. All Patrons are acknowledged in Opera Australia programs.

We believe regional communities must be given the same opportunity to see our productions as audiences in capital cities. We tour a full-scale, high calibre opera to every Australian state and territory over a two-year cycle which reaches to large regional centres, small towns and remote communities.

In 2020, we will tour Carmen throughout New South Wales, Victoria, ACT and Tasmania. The Regional Children’s Chorus program runs alongside our Regional Tour, offering 20 children (aged between 8 and 14 years) the chance to perform as the Chorus in a professional regional touring production.

Feeling the magic of taking a curtain call, hearing the rapturous applause from friends and family in the audience, not only encourages children to work hard but can inspire a lifetime love of opera and appreciation for the arts.

The Young Artist Program provides a unique opportunity for some of Australia’s most promising young artists to participate in a two-year intensive program. Young artists will build all the skills a budding performer needs to evolve from a student of opera to a professional singer who can hold their own on the world stage through a combination of performance and specialist mentoring.

The Opera Australia Capital Fund is an endowment fund whose purpose is to accumulate capital reserves to secure the ongoing financial viability of our national opera company. Each year the Capital Fund makes an annual distribution to Opera Australia which helps the company to plan and be more entrepreneurial that it could otherwise be.
