Company Membership

Opera Australia’s members form an important part of our organisation.

Our approach to our membership is outlined in our Membership Policy (view the membership policy ).

Due to the significant disruption to our activities in 2020 and its impact on membership eligibility requirements, the Board has determined that section 7.2(b)(ii) of the membership policy does not apply to the renewal of the memberships of Ordinary Members on 1 January 2021.  As a result, the membership of persons who were properly registered Ordinary Members as at 1 January 2020 have been renewed.

The powers and responsibilities of our members are contained in our constitution (view the constitution ).

We are open and accountable to our members. This includes:

• Publishing annual reports and financial reports; and
• Holding annual general meetings where we inform members about our operations and ask members to vote on motions such as appointing directors.
