Announcing our Director of Opera
It’s my great pleasure to let you know that Amy Lane has been appointed as our Director of Opera, commencing in September.
Following a rigorous national and international search, Amy joins us from the Copenhagen Opera Festival where she was Artistic Director, expanding the festival’s global reach and artistic ambition. Prior to this, she was Head Staff Director at The Royal Ballet and Opera, Covent Garden.
An innovative and highly respected artistic leader, Amy brings two decades’ experience leading opera houses and festivals in the UK, Europe and North America. Many of you will remember her work with OA as Revival Director of King Roger in Melbourne and Sydney, which received rave reviews.
Alongside Music Director Andrea Battistoni and me, Amy will lead the next stage of our company’s creative life. We are united by a clear ambition: to honour the depth and brilliance of the operatic canon and create work that resonates powerfully with today’s audiences.
Thank you for your continued support of OA.
Kind regards,
Alex Budd
CEO
