Annie Aitken

Annie Aitken is celebrated for her performances across Australia and the UK. Recently starred as Cunégonde in Opera Australia’s 2025 season of Candide, a role she previously played with State Opera South Australia and State Theatre South Australia, and originally for Sydney Philharmonia Choirs. Her critically acclaimed portrayal of Millie Dillmount in Thoroughly Modern Millie (The Production Company) also put her on the map as one of Australia’s leading ladies.

UK credits include Hedy LaRue in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (Southwark Playhouse) and Madame in Cinderella (Hope Mill Theatre). Hand-picked by composer Frank Wildhorn to be Lucy Harris in the Jekyll and Hyde London premiere development (Lambert Jackson), Annie also performed with him in Frank and Friends at Cadogan Hall.

Australian credits include Nellie Melba in Melba (Hayes Theatre Co, Sydney Theatre Award nomination), Muriel’s Wedding (Sydney Theatre Company, Global Creatures), Evangeline Barley in A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, Oklahoma! (The Production Company), The Sound of Music (Gordon Frost Organisation), Anything Goes (Opera Australia, Gordon Frost Organisation), Sweet Charity (Luckiest, Tinderbox), Sarah in Rolling Thunder Vietnam (Blake Entertainment) and Paulette in Legally Blonde (HAMA). Annie is a Victorian College of the Arts, Master of Theatre Graduate, 2018 recipient of the prestigious Rob Guest Endowment Award and proud Mum of twins Alfie and Teddy.
