Anthony Hunt

Pianist and conductor Anthony Hunt is an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music, London, and has been Chorus Master for Opera Australia since 2013. He studied piano and organ at the Elder Conservatorium, University of Adelaide, before becoming a Young Artist at the State Opera of South Australia, conducting many performances in the Opera Studio, and working as a freelance repetiteur; and he has been a participant in the Symphony Australia Conductor Development Program.

Anthony has prepared the Opera Australia Chorus for over 30 operas, including Aida, The Barber of Seville, Carmen, Cavalleria Rusticana, Die Fledermaus, Don Carlos, Don Pasquale, L’Elisir d’amore, Eugene Onegin, Faust, Falstaff, Götterdämmerung, King Roger, La bohème, La Traviata, The Love for Three Oranges, Le nozze di Figaro, Luisa Miller, Macbeth, Madama Butterfly, Of Mice and Men, The Magic Flute, The Merry Widow, The Mikado, Otello, Pagliacci, The Pearlfishers, The Pirates of Penzance, Rigoletto, Simon Boccanegra, Tosca, The Turk in Italy, and Turandot.
