Asher Reichman
Multi-award-winning Australian tenor Asher Reichman is admired for his Italianate vocal colour, musical sensitivity and stylistic versatility. Inspired by his father, a violinist and conductor, he began his musical training on the violin before later turning to voice.
He works regularly across opera, operetta, concert and recital repertoire. Reichman has performed operatic roles with Opera Australia and Melbourne Opera, appeared in operetta productions in Germany, and sung major concert works including Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, Mozart’s Requiem and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, appearing as a soloist with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. He is also an experienced recitalist, presenting curated vocal programs.
A regular member of the Opera Australia chorus, Reichman has appeared in productions including Aida, Mefistofele and Lohengrin, and performed as a soloist with the company in Breaking the Waves. An Associate Artist of Melbourne Opera, his roles include Rodolfo in La Bohème, Basilio in The Marriage of Figaro and Moser in Die Meistersinger. He is a former member of Melbourne Opera’s Richard Divall Emerging Artist Program and the recipient of the Richard Divall Prize at the 2024 Herald Sun Aria.
Supported by a Rotary Scholarship, Reichman undertook advanced studies in Germany with leading artists, notably Michael Spyres. Through the Italian Acclaim Award, he completed further studies in Italy with Salvatore Fisichella and Valeria Esposito, focusing on Italian repertoire, language and style.
