Dana Alison
Dana Alison is a versatile freelance flutist based in Sydney. She studied with James Kortum at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, before moving to London to obtain a Master of Performance at the Royal College of Music, studying with Gitte Marcusson, Emer McDonough, Sue Thomas and Stewart McIlwham. As a chamber musician, Dana has performed extensively across some of the UK’s most renowned venues, including Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall and Royal Albert Hall, and has recorded at Abbey Road Studios. Back home in Sydney, she has performed with Wollemi Chamber Society and is a regular member of Ensemble Apex. Dana was the 2025 Flute Fellow with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and has continued performing with the orchestra in 2026. She is currently engaged as a casual musician with the Opera Australia Orchestra and has recently appeared as Guest Principal with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
