Daniel Kramer
Bass-Baritone
Daniel Kramer, Bass-Baritone, fell in love with the stage at 9 years old when his mother took him to see Opera Australia’s 2006 production of Pirates of Penzance. He joined choirs, musical theatre productions, and played as a percussionist in jazz, drumline, and orchestral ensembles throughout his music-loving youth.
Serendipitously, it was a chance encounter with Deborah Humble in late 2019 that began his journey into the world of Opera and reignited his passion for music. Taking his first ever voice lesson with her that same year, he veered wildly from his original university studies of genetics and molecular biology.
Graduating from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with a Master of Music Studies (Opera Performance) in 2024 and serving as one of Opera Queensland’s Young Artists in 2025-2026, it has been a rapid introduction to the opera world. In a wondrously circular moment, his first stage debut after beginning this journey was playing Samuel in a 2023 production of Pirates of Penzance. Not one to isolate himself with only one genre, he has recorded for cinema, videogame, and television soundtracks, performed with metal bands, and carolled whilst braving the top of Sydney’s Centrepoint Tower and Brisbane’s Story Bridge.
