Giacomo Prestia

Born in Florence (Italy), Giacomo Prestia studied vocal technique with Maestro Sergio Catoni. He won several international competitions including the 'Concorso internazionale Voci Verdiane' in Busseto and the 'Concorso Luciano Pavarotti' in Philadelphia.



He made his Opera debut with Giuseppe Verdi’s Alzira in Fidenza in 1991, after which he embarked upon an intense and brilliant career that saw him performing in the major opera houses of the world such as Teatro alla Scala, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Opéra National de Paris, Wiener Staatsoper, Opernhaus Zurich, Teatro Real de Madrid, Liceu de Barcelona, Staatsoper Unter den Linden and Deutsche Oper Berlin, Teatro Colon de Buenos Aires, Teatro Comunale in Bologna, San Carlo in Naples, Berlin’s Philharmonic with the famous Berliner Orchestra, Teatro Regio di Parma.  Mr. Prestia has also worked with prominent conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, Gorge Pretre, Daniele Gatti, Nicola Luisotti, Daniel Oren, Daniel Baremboin, Nello Santi,Bruno Campanella, Maurizio Benini, Michele Mariotti.



Among the many good performances we mention great success with I vespri siciliani in Parma, Macbeth in Bilbao and Montecarlo, Aida for the opening 74° Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and in Milan, Norma in Bari and Turin, Lucia di Lammermoor and I masnadieri in Naples.



In the next seasons he will sing Aida in Paris Opéra National, La favorite in Paris TCE and Don Carlo in Vienna, Turin and Berlin,Turandot in Florence, Ernani in Liège.
