Jessica Dean
Jessica is a Masters graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, London, where she studied with Lillian Watson.



 



She has performed regularly with the Opera Australia Chorus, and made her Opera Australia debut as Barbarina in 2012 (The Marriage of Figaro) as well as touring as Zerlina (Don Giovanni).



 



For State Opera of South Australia, she’s performed Marzelline in Fidelio for which she received a Helpmann nomination, Beth in the Australian première of Mark Adamo’s Little Women, Yum-Yum (The Mikado) and Dew-Fairy (Hansel and Gretel).  For SOSA’s studio program, roles include Tiresias (Les mamelles de Tirésias), Fräulein Silberklang (Der Schauspieldirektor), and Laurette in Bizet's Le Docteur Miracle. Roles performed at the Academy include Calisto (Cavalli's La Calisto), Barbarina, under Sir Colin Davis, and Le Feu (L’enfant et les sortilèges). She was also awarded the inaugural scholarship for the Royal Academy's Bach Cantata concert series.  Jessica has performed as a soloist throughout the UK, in Zagreb and recently with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.



 



Her Australian awards include the EMR Overseas Scholarship and the Dame Ruby Litchfield Scholarship.
