Jessie Monk

Jessie Monk is an artist from GunaiKurnai Land, Victoria. Based between Naarm and Berlin, Jessie graduated from the Victorian College of The Arts with a  BFA in Music Theatre, where she received both  the Lionel Gel and Ron and Margaret Dobell Awards. Jessie played Teenage Girl 1, in the Australian Premier of David Bowie’s Lazarus before moving to Israel to train in Gaga (contemporary dance) with Ohad Naharin and Batsheva Dance Company, eventually continuing on to Europe’s iconic, Berlin. Jessie has since developed an underground following as an avant-folk musician and multi-faceted artist, playing large festivals and support slots around Europe, reviewed in Rolling Stone Magazine and featured in rotation on Europe and Australia’s leading radio stations (DFK, Triple J, BBC, ABC), as well as twice receiving the MusikInitiativ Künstler:innen förderung Award (2021, 2023). Jessie is in the process of releasing her Sophomore album ‘Mis O’ The Mountains’.
