Jia Gu

Crystal Jia Gu began studying the violin at the age of five. She completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Violin Performance at the University of Sydney, where she studied with Goetz Richter, Janet Davis, and Timothy Kantor.

She has also undertaken violin studies at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music under He Xian. As a Patricia H. Reid Orchestral Fellow, Crystal is passionate about orchestral performance and opera repertoire, and is deeply committed to music-making as both a profession and an art form.
