John Xintavelonis
John first worked with Opera Australia in the role of Stewpot in South Pacific. John has enjoyed an extensive career on stage, radio, television and corporate entertainment. Originally from Tasmania, John has contributed much to the development of the arts in his home state, becoming a much-loved household name in the process. Music Theatre highlights include the roles of the Lion in The Wizard of Oz (GFO Attractions), Pumbaa in the Melbourne and Shanghai seasons of The Lion King (The Walt Disney Company) and Mr Braithwaite in Billy Elliot-The Musical (Billy Australia P/L). Other credits include The Threepenny Opera (Malthouse /Vic Opera/STC), Jekyll and Hyde for TML (Korea) and The Boy from Oz (The Production Company). Television credits include Bay Of Fires, Rosehaven, The Kettering Incident, Winners and Losers. Tricky Business and Dance Academy 2. Film credits include Ancestry Road and The Sound of One Hand Clapping. An accomplished voice artist, John’s voice has featured in Legends of the Guardians, Australia and Mao’s Last Dancer.
