Julia McRae

A graduate of Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Julia McRae has sung extensively with Opera Queensland, Opera Australia and OzOpera. Her career includes a long list of concert credits, as well as corporate entertainment with Singers for Hire and Australian Global Entertainment. She has won an American Institute of Musical Studies Scholarship and was a finalist in the German Operatic Award and Vienna State Opera Award. In 2004, Julia won the National Operatic Aria Competition in Canberra.



Julia’s professional career includes roles in A Little Night Music, Sid the Serpent Who Wanted to Sing, The Sound Garden, Software, La Sonnambula and Cosi fan Tutte. She has performed understudy roles in Jenůfa, Le Nozze di Figaro and The Mikado. In 2015, Julia joined the international cast of The Phantom of the Opera, understudying and performing the role of Madame Giry for seasons in Guangzhou and Beijing.
