Mariana Fracasso

Designer

Born in Turin, Mariana studied foreign languages ​​and literature. She also participated in the first Mediterranean arts Biennial in Barcelona and exhibited at Pitti Trend (Florence) as an emerging designer, beginning a long series of collaborations with prestigious companies in the fashion industry. These include collections of fabrics, footwear and clothing from Casadei, Max Mara, Lancetti, Rocco Barocco and Ferrari.

She was a professor at I.E.D. (Istituto Europeo del Design) from 2000 to 2004 and from there she progressed to apply her experience in the field of car design. She worked on designing interior fittings for prototypes and cars for brands such as; Bertone, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, and Lancia with whom she collaborated at the “Papa mobile” which was then donated for the opening occasion of the 2000 Jubilee.

In recent years she has gained great styling experience for videography within the advertising field.

From 2012 she worked on numerous costumes for difference productions including; Die Zauberflote, Otello, Le Nozze di Figaro, La Forza del Destino, La Bohème, Narciso di Scarlatti, Norma, Idomeneo, and Il Turco in Italia.

Mariana has worked in theatres such as the Palau Reina Sofia in Valencia, the Stavanger Symphony, the Colon in Buenos Aires, the Opera di Roma in Caracalla, the Tiroler Landestheater in Innsbruck, and the Teatro Real in Madrid. One of her most recent works is in collaboration with the Royal Opera House Muscat and the Teatro alla Scala alongside director Davide Livermore for the production of Tamerlano (George Frederic Handel).

In addition to the near thirty-year partnership with fashion, her upcoming engagements will be; Un Ballo in Maschera for the Bolshoi Theatre, The loves of Apollo and Daphne for Innsbrucker Festwochen, and Lamke for the Royal Opera House in Muscat.
