Martin Lijauco

Martin Lijauco joins Opera Australia as a Repetiteur for our touring project for La Bohème. In 2001, Martin began learning piano at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and went on to complete a Bachelor of Music (Performance) in 2017 under the tutelage of Clemens Leske. In 2019, Martin moved to Stuttgart Germany, where he commenced a Master of Opera Repetiteurship at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst under the tutelage of Bernhard Epstein. After the conclusion of his Masters in 2022, Martin began work as a full-time Repetiteur at the Opernstudio NRW where he worked collaboratively in projects associated with four renowned opera houses in the Nordrhein- Westfalen, Germany – including Aalto Theater Essen, Oper Dortmund, Wuppertaler Bühnen and Musiktheater im Revier, Gelsenkirchen. Martin has since moved back to Australia where he continues to pursue his passion for opera as a freelance Repetiteur and Collaborative Pianist. His most recent projects include Don Giovanni, Un Giorno di Regno, Rusalka with the Opera and Song Collective Sydney, and La Bohème, making his professional debut with Opera Australia.
