Matteo Desole
Born in Sassari in 1989, he studied singing with Raina Kabaivanska in Modena and he made his debut in 2007 as Malcolm in Macbeth at Teatro Comunale Bologna conducted by Roberto Abbado, and staged by Bob Wilson.
He immediately made his debuts mostly as Alfredo in Traviata (Rome Opera, Erl Festival, La Fenice, Florence, Prague, and for his London debut at Holland Park and at NNTT), Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor in Cagliari and Prague, Rodolfo in La Bohéme (Erl Festival, Modena, Bari, Klagenfurt, Cagliari), as Ruggero in La Rondine in Florence, Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi in the Circuito Emiliano, his La Scala debut in a new production of Francesca da Rimini,conducted by Fabio Luisi,and I Masnadieri. He made his Glyndebourne debut as Nemorino in the 2023 Festival.
Recent and future engagements include: La bohème at Teatro Lirico in Cagliari and at Grand Théâtre Massenet in Saint-Etienne, Il Trovatore in Lubiana with Zubin Mehta, L’elisir d’amore in Nancy and at NNTT in Tokyo, La Favorita and Lucrezia Borgia in Cagliari, Traviata in Glyndebourne, Un ballo in Maschera at Holland Park, Nabucco in Modena and Reggio Emilia, Lucia, Traviata and Roberto Devereux in Bologna, the debut in Australia with Verdi Requiem, Rossini Stabat Mater and Mozart Requiem, Macbeth in Liège and the World Première of Romanzo Criminale in Florence, the debut al La Monnaie with Lucia di Lammermoor.
