Since graduating from NIDA, Michael has appeared with major companies and productions in both Australia and the U.K. Highlights include A Few Good Men and Cabaret on London’s West End, playing Randle P McMurphy in One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest and Bradley in Sam Shepherd’s Buried Child for Leicester Curve, Robert Smith in Blue/Orange for York Theatre Royal, Shamrayev in The Seagull for Southwark Playhouse, and Matt Holden in Breakfast With Jonny Wilkinson for Menier Chocolate Factory in London and the subsequent film version. In Australia, Michael has appeared for Sydney Theatre Company (A Little Night Music, Antony and Cleopatra), Griffin Theatre (Clark in Sarajevo, Alive at Williamstown Pier) and acted and directed with Pork Chop Productions (Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, Hamlet, Duck Variations). Other musical productions include The Rocky Horror Show, Merrily We Roll Along, Melba, and the international production of Mamma Mia! touring to 30 countries.
Television credits include Phoenix, Police Rescue, Water Rats, Farscape, A Country Practice, Backberner, RAW (Ireland), House of Bond, Here Come the Habibs, The Secret Daughter, as well as being a regular cast member on Home and Away playing Rhys Sutherland for 4 years.
Michael is very pleased to be making his Opera Australia debut in West Side Story on Sydney Harbour.
