Nicholas Jachno

Nicholas Jachno is a Multidisciplinary Dance Artist from Canberra and is now based in Sydney. He attended The New Zealand School of Dance, Graduating with a Diploma in Dance Performance majoring in Contemporary.
After Graduating Nicholas has been a part of Malia Johnston’s, Rushes, for the 2018 New Zealand Arts Festival, worked for Cadi McCarthy as a dancer in Catapult Dance Hubs premiere Season of That Place in Between and premiered his first solo work, An Observant Man.
In 2020, Nicholas performed in Catapults Season, Mixed Bill, which contained four works from choreographers; Kristina Chan, Craig Bary, Omer Backley-Astrachan and Adam Blanch.
In 2021 Nicholas was a part of Liz Lea’s ‘The Point’ which premiered at the Belconnen Arts Centre in Canberra and began dancing for musical artist Aya Yves for all her shows.
During 2023, Nicholas performed two works with Lewis Major Company for Sydney Fringe Festival, Lien (One to One) and Unfolding, which received the Best Dance Award for Sydney Fringe 2023.
This year Nicholas decided to make the move to Sydney and immerse himself into Queer performance spaces. Since moving to Sydney he has danced for Eli Crawford in the Miss Universal competition, Drag Artist Fairah Nuff for the Tour de Cure Gala as well as her performance for POOF DOOF’s next drag superstar. He has also danced in a new production for POOF DOOF called Erotic Electronic.
